    Hey Guys.

This is Shawn from Leisure-Tech products.

I finally got this registration thing going, haha.

I will have with me the Century Freestyle, Century Raven NX, Century Bell 222 with Nexus 30 mechanics, probably my little Century Lama, and... unfortunately...the Align 450 managed to get itself into the list...i feel so dirty...

As mentioned already, I plan on doing a quick demo for those interested in painting. I may bring a few canopies to sell or raffle off with me, depending on time.

    See you guys there
    Shawn.

How are things going with the Fun Fly?

I just had mine this past weekend. the weather reports were calling for thunderstorms all day, but we only ended up getting a beating for about an hour and a half. the rest of the day the flight line was packed

Organizing one of these events are a bit of a head ache, i never look forward to doing it. But seeing it all come together and watching everyone have a good time makes it all worth it.

Congrats on your event. Things are coming together nicely but I'm still looking for volunteers. I'll start "asking" a bit louder after this coming long weekend. Its not going to work if I don't have the man/women power to operate in all areas/responsibilities out at the field.
In any case, it is coming along well though.

    Default New Registration fee

    Hello,

I would like to inform all those that have been watching this thread and plan on attending the event that after meeting with some of the executives of the Stetson Flyers and due to the large prize values (approx. $6000 worth) the registration fee for the event had to be increased to $10 from the $5 stated earlier.
The registration fee will include one entry into the major prize draw and you are free to purchase additional tickets.

If anyone will be free to help out or know of somebody that can I would like to hear about it. We aren't looking too bad but it couldn't hurt to have a few extra or back up volunteers...besides that will allow those that would like to fly and volunteer more time to fly

Look forward to seeing everyone there!

    Regards,

    Jason Richards

    Default Prizes

    Prizes:

It has been brought to my attention that due to the rather large value associated with this year’s prizes, I should clarify how and to whom they will be made available.

    1. REGISTERED PILOTS WHO WILL BE FLYING ON THE 15TH ONLY (Please bring your transmitter to the registration desk when you register):

    • The Bergen Gasser Helicopter (Approx. value $3000)

Note: This is due to the fact without the pilots that show up and actually fly on the 15th there would be NO event. So, to recognize their contribution to not only the success of this year’s event but also to encourage and support their continued enthusiasm within the RC Helicopter Hobby, one of the two equally valuable helicopters will be made available just for them. Since a Helicopter Fun Fly isn’t FUN if there aren’t any helicopters, right?

    2. ANYONE ELSE WHO WISHES TO PURCHASE A RAFFLE TICKET AT A COST OF $5 / TICKET, I.E. GENERAL PUBLIC, PILOTS AND VOLUNTEERS (Volunteers will be provided with one free ticket to this draw to reward their contribution)

    • The Bergen .60 Glow Helicopter (Approx. Value $3000)
    • Six (6) Gift Certificates valued at $25 a piece, generously donated from Discount Hobbies in Orleans ($150 value)
    • Blades and various maintenance / set up tools such as ball link pliers and / or pitch gauges (the exact list has not been determined just yet), generously donated by Dynamic Hobbies in Nepean ($150 value)

I hope this helps dispel some of the rumors or conjecture that had been circulating recently. I also hope that everyone understands that unlike some events where you have to be a registered pilot to get a chance at any of the prizes, this event will be run differently in that ALL but one prize will be made available to EVERYONE to win. However, one prize (yes a big one, but no different in value to the big one available to everyone else) has been set aside just for the pilots that make this whole event possible. The Helicopter community isn’t as large as the Fixed Wing community so something special should be done to reflect the effort and dedication it takes to stay active in this unique, sometimes frustrating and often criticized side of the Aviation Hobby.

*** Please also note that there will be no limit set on how many prizes you can win except for the pilot that wins the Bergen Gasser Helicopter will not be eligible to win the Bergen .60 Glow Helicopter but they can win a gift certificate, etc. and why not since good for them for buying tickets to the OPEN draw in addition to paying for registration and the countless hours it took to prepare to fly that day.***
