just watched a few videos on this page aerosoundrc

http://www.aerosoundrc.com/

so far this has to be the best sound add on for E planes
to make em sound real ( warbirds etc)
its price reflects its quality though
270 bucks for add on noise, what more could ya want

love the way the virtual engine sound rev up and down
with the throttle stick, also it boasts a 2X40 watt amp in it,
and high powered speakers,

I get the same effect by cutting 1/4inch off of one propeller blade while leaving the other blade intact.

It doesn't look like anything you couldn't do with an MP3 player, and a set of amplified PC speakers (the ones that cost $20). Cut them out of their plastic shells, wire the 12VDC line into a 3S lipo, and you're good to go.

I was thinking about capturing a digital recording of Mike Toner's screamer and playing it back.

Tom, what do you think??? :p

You can't control an MP3 player with your throttle position!!. There are a few R/C sound units around but only two that are serious contenders for model aircraft - from Model Solutions of Canada Ltd. and the Benedini units from Aerosound.

I am a new ORRC member and I own Model Solutions of Canada Ltd. We design and make premium R/C sound systems, and they're a lot cheaper than these Benedini units from Aerosound. Plus they're designed and built right here in Ottawa.
