New Design for 2007! - Manta-Ray -

Hey got in a quick test hop/flight Wed + 4 sunshine today another SNOWSTORM - eek-yuk!

Manta-Ray
wingspan 36"
Motor OS LA .10 2oz tank
2 servo's for Elvrons 1 servo for throttle
weight around 1 - 1.5lbs
Flight is fast model has fantastic glide ratio!

This design is simply a much smaller all wood version of the Draco coroplast combat design layout!

Design flew fine needs some CofG and thrust line adjustments.

Cool, that looks like it would make a great e-power kit. Are you planning on kitting this one up?

Ya I had E- thoughts for this right from the start! I had wanted to get into the Piker class Pylon racing thing with this design! But not wanting to spend out for New pricy E-gear I thought best to have a glow version tryout to check the basic setup of a entire new flying wing design. I had all the equipment on hand already for the LA.10 setup!

Like I said this design lets me learn the C of G and thrust line etc.

So Yes next MK-II could be shortly arranged for Speed 400 power!

Today at this time I want to stick with the .10 slimmy MK-1 making a few improvements to do ie tweek the space in the center section for equipment and wing tip plates need to be enlarged for a better handling!

I hope to do another updated laser cut semi kit for myself for the .10 version
This version might get me publish in the RC mags! Wishful thinking on my part eh.
