I've set up a showcase area for my best pics. Anyone know people who'd be interested in paying for aerial photography of their home or business?

I also did some other photos in around Fisher Park and Lebreton flats yesterday which can be viewed in their respective galleries.

I think I'm getting the hang of this stuff... can't wait until I've got time to finish my improved AP airplane. (lower drag wing and fuse for better climb, glide, top speed and duration)

HEY! The Ultimate team I'm on had a game at that park about 3 weeks ago ;) Hope there werent' too many UFO reports after you flew over the Queensway.

Those are great pictures. What digital camera are you using.

And does it have a "video mode"? That would be cool to see too.

I actually played some pick-up ultimate with some friends there Saturday.

I tried to avoid getting directly over the Queensway, most of the shots were being taken at at least a little of an angle.

My friends inflated a 4.5' balloon (air) and were tossing it back and forth (slowly). It caught a gust of wind which took it up over the trees at the side of the park, then it found a thermal and kept climbing. It was going up like a rocket... quite cool! I tried to get some formation shots with the airplane, but can't see it in any of the pictures I took when the balloon was more than a few feet up, must have missed.

I'm using a Pentax Optio S4, which has some decent features. It's 4mp, and is small (115g), but also has programmable user modes, as well as an IR remote port on the front. I have a remote for it that plugs into my receiver, eliminating the pain in the butt of setting up a servo to push the trigger.

The camera does do video, but it's the 15fps 640x480 variety... I'll play around with it some at some point.

The camera also has a video out port, which I'll be hooking up to my 2.4Ghz video system so I'll be able to frame my shots better.... that should be fun. ;)

So you finally got the Optio. It shows in the pictures. Looks like you're having a lot of fun with it. Be sure to bring it to the meeting in September.

Post a pic of the new rig if you can.

I've entered this pic in an RC aerial photography contest at RC Groups:

Not that I'm suggesting you guys stuff the ballot box or anything, but the prize is a 2100mAH battery which would work perfectly on my new AP ship...

;)

There you go...

If you win the balancer, I'll just give you my packs once a month for balancing.
