With the indoor season coming to an end..... but wait not quite. I recently moved to Bathurst, NB and found a gym for rent at 22$ per hour. It is larger than the RA center but smaller than Carleton fieldhouse. The ceiling is as tall as Carleton and the ground is about twice the RA gym surface area. We are usually 4 to 5 pilots so I get lots of flight time. I think we might continue to rent it this summer when the weather is not so great.
This means that after crashing my previous foamy biplane I needed a new foamy. I got the plans off of RC-Groups in the Indoor Pattern/F3P forum. The build went well and I maidened tonight. There was a small breeze blowing but the Yak performed very well. I am quite pleased with its performance and can't wait to try it indoors.
As some of you may know... I've scratch built several foamies in the past and never painted them. I was even referred to as "ghost Sev" due to my all white airplanes. I decided to add some color this time and so picked up some Krylon H2O latex spray paint from Canadian Tire. After testing on a scrap piece of foam the paint proved to be completely foam safe. In fact.... the bottle says it's even safe for use indoors. I did all this painting in the house and could barely smell paint.

I really like the way it turned out and would recommend this plane to anyone looking for an indoor 3D type plane. I especially like that all the wiring is hidden away in the corner stiffener on the bottom including the antenna.
