Yup... it went well. The weather was fair, and the winds were calm :D

Lots of heli and aircraft... Several mid-airs. Some caught in the netting, but it was all fun.

Next date is Dec 2nd 6:30-9 at the same place.

See ya then!

Thanks for the info and the "pic" Tom - boy, was there ever a turnout for that event !!

I didn't go over the pic with magnifying glass, but I didn't see any "helis" there.. were there any, or is/was it a "plane" only event...... I was kinda expecting a fair turnout from both groups -

really disappointed that I missed that one

It was mostly planes, but I think I counted 5 perhaps 6 helis in total.

I was mostly flying my Byp-Yak (an airplane), but I did a short flight with my Blade CP just to say I did :).

Sev had his MX400 up for a couple of hops. I think he was having some trouble with glitching though, and didn't take the helicopter too high because of that.

Jeff had a larger heli that I didn't recognize. It looked like it flew very smoothly.

I think I also saw a GWS Draganfly, and a couple of co-axial helis.

I guess the heli/airplane split was about 20%-80%. Not sure why they didn't show up in the picture. The orders were, "grab an airplane and come over here for the picture". I guess people took it literally ;)

The nice part about flying heli's there is that it's self regulated at one side of the gym. So long as there isn't a frequency conflict, you could fly all night if you so desire.

That's a good way to organize it, I kinda figured that maybe while the picture was being taken the "heli" guys took advantage of the "open" frequencies - and were "going nuts" elsewhere :)

now I'm really pi**ed - I wanted to see that new one that Sev just finished

maybe next time :D
