F.Y.I.
I was having a great deal of trouble hovering, not the tail moving, but the whole heli sliding from side to side... I had the blade pitch and gyro trimmed enough to make NASA proud, but still the same thing - today it was recommended that I should balance the blades ..
ran out and got a balancer, balanced the blades, now it hovers like it was suspended on a string :D
I just can't believe what a difference that this has made - highly recommended to anyone with the same problem !!

I found the same thing. Thing to remember with the Blade CP is that anything that would affect a normal sized rc heli will affect us doubly so. Blade tracking, drift shaft being bent, blade weights will all affect the Blade -greatly- in terms of performance.
Add wind to the mix and it makes the experience all the more... interesting.
As a result I've trimmed my controls to be as sensitive as I can handle, I got rid of the training gears as quickly as possible (found it affected performance -greatly- what with all that turbulance bouncing back up into the blades) and hover over grassy soccer fields instead of on tarmac or gravel.

just put in a new main shaft and rotor, and, well, since it was apart anyway - I put these on :D
I will have to tweak a bit probably to get it on track, but it should take a lot more pounding now without breaking up :)

One of the things that these do is give the heli a better center of gravity which I hadn't considered before putting them on,, I was thinking a adding a very small amount of wieght to the stock landing gear - just never got around to doing it -
and they do take a pounding and absorb it rather well.......
heli 1 ground 0
definite flight improvement :)

Ok, I'm -hugely- interested in the parts upgrades that you put the Blade... Does it shorten flight time any? How are the alnding gears? I tend to go through allot of those and I would love to get the gears, boom struts and the tail stabilizers. Do you have part numbers or where I could get those? They looks so great!

Hey Adam,
here they are
http://www.super-skids.com/
took about 1 week from order to my front door - comes with skids, mounts, battery tray, boom supports, tail support ( with ball ), boom wing.......... oh yeh and an antenna tube........ ( instructions have lots of pics )......
doesn't appear to shorten flight times, and you can really hammer them on landing ( if you have to ) - nothing breaks - and they give your heli a wider "footprint" to land on.......
seems to smooth the flight ( a little more bottom weight - better center of gravity )
I looked at others, but this was a "complete" upgrade that addressed all the weak points ( imho ) :D
love em - now looking for aluminum upgrades ( bell hiller, swash etc )
seen any ??

If you're looking for an aluminum swashplate head on over to the for sale section. I've got one listed there.

Just an FYI: Dont buy the aftermarket CNC head you might see on heli direct. I know it looks amazing but theres a couple issues with it. A couple guys I talk to have bought it and it doesnt quite fit the CPs. The head sits sloppy on the main shaft and theres no way to get it tightened down. The main shaft is also about 10 MMs too long and needs to be cut off with a dremel. for the $150 it costs thats a couple pretty big issues. Theyve Emailed HD about it and also requesting a refund but they wont respond. Personally Id wait till Horizon releases that head on the Pro box

I was talking to another cp'er who mentioned that the aluminum parts are not very forgiving ( which I hadn't thought about ) so I will stay away from them for the moment - I need all the forgiveness I can get out of the parts until I have A LOT more flight time in :)

The aluminum swashplate is a good buy. I ordered one from Helidirect when I got the super landing gear and really like it. I just wont buy a CNC head till Horizon releases theirs. At least then you know its gonna be plug and play
