Hi all,

Came across this article while searching for something else - gonna give it a shot, cause I have a couple of sets where the end got hacked but the rest of the blade is fine...I figure I'll just be knocking off the ends of a new set while in "learning mode", so why not.... have been wondering about doing this for awhile ???

I'm thinking that running a piece af tape around the blade first ( where you are going to make the cut ) before cutting it would help to not shred the shrink wrap....

another idea just for your info...

I took about 1 3/8" ( sorry I don't do metric ) off the ends of the original blades that came with it - I had to, that is where the damage extended - cut them off, put them on , and fired up - more thrust is needed ( obviously ), but the heli actually does hover better, not so twitchy........

I have another damaged set that I will take less off, maybe an 1/2 inch up to an inch ( darn, there's the metric crowd again :) ) if I have to - and try them....

I would say that my original cut is as much as you can remove, and still hope to lift off -

any way I now have another 2 blade sets to wreck at no cost :D

Another way of increasing the control of your Blade CP, Iv'e heard, is adding another flybar weight on either end... Apparently it makes it much more easy to manage, though response times are slower... Take it for what you will.

Hey Adam,

I also read that somewhere, so I got a set ( about 8 bucks ) and put them on next to the existing ones, and it did seem to tame it down a bit - in fact now that you mention it, I have been flying around with them for so long I had forgotten - think I will take them off and see what happens...........

probably not a good combo - short blades, and extra weights as well

ordered a Superskid kit today - comes with the skids, boom supports, and couple of other things............ as well as being a lot tougher than the originals, they look good as well..

speaking of booms - how did you thread your wires through yours ??
