After much searching for a cool warbird in the area of 25 ounces that can be flown in the same area as a Mini Sportster I finally gave up searching. I just couldnt find 1 so I decided the only way I would find 1 would be to build it. I LOVE my MiniSS so I decided it would be my warbird and with a couple small mods and a sweet covering job I got my warbird. Hope these pics show up. I added 2 servos for the aelerons as you can see and a bigger battery hatch. Also enlarged the vertical fin a bit just for looks. Im still looking for some small details like guns, a couple small stickers ,stacks etc I also changed out the motor for an Eflite brushless 400 outrunner, 18amp Thunderbird esc and a 1700Mah 11.1V battery.
That looks great!!!
I had started building a cockpit with pilot to put on my mini SS but it was more to make it easier to get at the pack and I like the open cockpit look, but ater seeing your job may have to re-think my plans.
Nice work!

Thanks..I was using a Thunderpower 1320 mah battery and it fit perfectly but this new battery was a little longer and since I wanted the open cockpit look it was a good time to make the bigger hatch. It may not look like a scale warbird and Im sure its gotten a few laughs but I dont care. I like the small electrics that I can fly in the park and its not like Im out to win any beauty contests with it anyway so what the heck. I was getting bored with the look of the Mini SS. The hatch is a definite improvement though.
So what if it does not look like Spitfire, Mustang or any other plane we've seen a million of...... I do love scale but there is nothing wrong with flying your own creation. Big/small, scale/sport, ic/electric it's all about the smile/pucker factor:)
Enjoy it !
