I have several futuba aircraft (7uaf and 9caf) radios that have helicopter functions.
I notice that the switch locations are different from the heli version.
My question is how much these switch placement difference affect helicopter flying.

One of the biggest concerns I would have is if you hand your radio to someone else for a test flight and they thing that the mode switch is on the left. When they go to idle-up1 and sudenly engage the throttle hold. Other than the switches being "non-standard" and maybe needed to relearn a little bit if you switched to a heli radio it is not a big issue.
That is one of the great things about computer based radios is they are very flexible and one radio can pretty much fly anything.

Thank you Cgroves for your input.
Do you plan to attend the Stetson’s Heli fun fly next week?
Would be nice to meet you.

Yep, I won't get there till right around noon (I have two other fun flys to do demos at in the morning, I'll be flying the heli flag high all across the Ottawa valley) but I am definately showing up. Just don't let all the really cool turbines finish their flying before I get there :D.

I will mention your request to the turbine flyers.
See you at the fun fly.
