Well... I've decided that I've learned all I can from my Funtana. It's time to move on. Dave Rees and Fred were out watching me fly it today, and I think they agree with my decision.
If anyone is interested in an "previously enjoyed" Funtana airframe, let me know.
There's just a minor "ding" in the fuselage.
I'll post pictures soon!
Cheers,
Tom

Picks of the Funtana carnage! You can see the small "ding" in the fuselage here:

I'm glad there were witnesses... Dave and Fred watched it go down in all its glory.
The part I'm most upset about is that it was the second flight with a brand new APC 15x4W prop. $18 down the drain!
Cheers,
Tom

I figure if you’re going to do something do it right. If I had to picture the “perfect crash” right now, I think it would have to go something like this:
Low highspeed knife edge pass…. 5-10 feet off the ground. Once over the runway, a rudder clevis mysteriously works itself loose. Loss of rudder deflection results in a 100ft cartwheel down the asphalt. Naturally, only splinters would remain.
The icing on the cake would be if it was captured on video.

Just to let everyone know that Tom's Funtana wing found it's way to my basement where it has almost been totally resurrected (thanks Tom!)...and is being mated with one of the several smashed fuselages that I had stuffed in behind the furnace.
Look for Tom's wing and my fuse in the air at the ORCC Fun Fly in October (if not sooner!).:D

Awesome...
you need to make some "Franken-tana" decals for it.
Be nice to my wing. She's cheated death many times :D
