I had an unfortunate accident with my mini sportster tonight and since its as good a time as any to get another plane i was wondering what the Mini funtana is like. I want a plane that flies as docile as the mini sport but has the potential for aerobatics when i decide so. Does the funtana fly nice and smooth like the sportster?? Or is it more of an aerobat only??

Psikelly,
I only just got my Mini Funtana last week (I also have a Mini Sportster), and I can tell you it doesn't like the wind too much (it bounces around quite a bit).
As you probably know, the MF has two wing positions, forward wing for 3d and rear wing for pattern-style aerobatics. I haven't got enough flight time to make a commentary on its performance overall, but I can tell right away its not as sleek and fast like my sportster and certainly not "docile".
That said, alot of people like the MF for 3d or pattern, and its certainly a nice bird (after you fix the landing gear mounting plate so it tear off after a less than perfect landing). Personally, I can't wait to advance my skills on the MF, but I'm keeping my much-loved Sportster because they are quite different fliers.

If you don't mind my asking how bad is your sportser? is it repairable? is the wing salvageable? I'd consider buying some wreckage off your for spare parts on mine.

my fuselage is still in real good shape. Other than the fact that i peeled off some of the covering just too see how it was constructed. 2 very small dings on the fuse. The leading edge on the left wing took a good hit and is broken half way across but i think its repairable. The right wing looks like a pack of dogs thought it was a steak . Youre more than welcome to have the remains free of charge. I could leave it at one of the hobby shops for pickup if they wouldnt mind that or we can arrange a way for you to get it.

On second thought it may be worse than I thought. I came home today to find out my wife was kind enough to carry it out with the trash today because " she didnt think it looked like it would fly anymore ". Sorry bout that. On the upside you can sleep well tonight just knowing that the dump rats have a pretty cool home now.:(

No worries, thats okay. Sounds pretty daring of the wifey though! Did she know there was no electronics in the plane? Hopefully you didnt lose an ESC or receiver.

Luckily I had removed everything from it the same night I brought it in smashed. It was probably all the cursing and swearing as I was taking it apart that made her think it was garbage lol All's good though. I gave her a good spanking and straightened her out on the planes ;)
