hi all, about 4 weeks ago, this plane crashed due to reversed ailerons
took a good hit, so looking for a challenge, I offered to repair it for him
almost have it done, luckily the wing wasn't badly damaged or I wouldn't
have bothered, so far so good, here's some before and after pics
last pic shows how it looks as of today, ( almost there!!!)
first 24 inches of this plane, is literally 100% scratch built by me

That's great, Tony! ...Your repairs are coming along really well. Personally, I am a big believer in repairing models...heck, they generally started out as a box of balsa sticks and sheets, right?

Having said that, I do find it easier to repair someone else's model than my own for some reason...it seems more interesting and exciting to fix someone else's crash than your own...not sure why though...

Keep up the good work! ...I'm sure Karl will appreciate it!:D

i forgot to mention, this plane went in during the last week of flying
at the west end field, due to reversed Ailerons, it flew maybe 10 secs
at best

I, for one, am extremely impressed with how that went back together.

Good on ya!

Great Job! Who flew it into the ground? Curious ;) What ever happened to pre-flight checks anyways?

Nicely done Tony :) Looking forward to seeing it out at the field again.

I've got a project for ya, if ya want.

I hate re-building airplanes

Cheers,
Dave

Uh oh... is this something new? Or is this your last attempt at a "free-flight" model at the glider field?

;)

the mighty Sharam flew it into the ground lol
the first 24 inches of the plane is 100% scratch built
wing itself wasnt too bad , only took a hour or so to repair
and recover the baddie areas up
