Wow!! I did my first real autorotation on Sunday
Unfortunately it didn't happen how I had planned (read forced):( but all in all I think it went quite well.
I had just come out the bottom of a stall turn when I heard or should I say could no longer hear my motor. Damn a flame out!
Right away I dumped all the positive collective and fed in about 6 degrees of negative. I managed to keep a nice glide slope and decent headspeed all the way down to about 3 feet off the deck. I then flared, fed in some positive and let it settle softly.......................into a foot of water
Well I ran out and pulled the hawk from the pulled. We dried it out and checked it over and in the end it cost me a feathering shaft. I'd say I got pretty lucky.
Can't wait to do another one..........this time planned of course.
