So,

I have asked Scott Clarke, El Presidente of Stetson's regarding use of Stetson's field for control line. I am still awaiting a definitive answer but first response was that he thought that it would be ok. Details when I have them.

I have managed to shack a couple of interested fliers out of the bushes. I have suggested that we use Calm Days as a meeting/orgainizing place for lack of anything better. Please post your ideas and thoughts on control line flying in the Ottawa area. For example, suitable fields, types of flying you are interested in etc.

Richard Barlow (our local Zone Manager) is a control enthusiast (actually he participates in just about everything). He mentioned to me that they are planning on making time available at the Zone Fun Fly ( in Brockville this year) for some control line flying. More details as and when available.

With all that in mind, I am game for just about any type of control line flying. 1/2a combat (FAI or whatever rules), I would even be tempted to get a larger motor and build something for .15 size combat if there was enough interest. General sport flying or stunt. My current plan is to get and old 1/2a control liner going again (engine needs a good cleaning) and build a smallish .09 powered sport stunter.

So, please post your thoughts, ideas and what you would like to see.

cheers, Graham
