Now that would've been one hair raising ride!!!!!
Guess the pilot couldn't find the throttle.

And no one explained to the pilot of the Goose that, "wheel brakes are only functional when operating from land".
On the other hand, I guess the pilot of the C206 learned the hard way that "WHEELS are only functional when operating from land".

Tom, you know that I am a tough crowd. How often have I said to you, referring to your flying "that's cool, now try this!! ;) "
Just watched those vids, YIKES:eek: The guy at the end paddling was too funny. Wonder what the pilot, or passengers were thinking as he hit the beach in the Goose??
Thanks John/Corey

The question is why the Goose pilot didn't abort when his takeoff run started going sour? I notice his wingtip floats seem to only be about half way down... I wonder if this contributed to his control problem? It is a crying shame to see a classic antique like that get pranged!

UPDATE on the Grumman Goose video.
I spoke with my friend at Transport Canada (who sent me the video in the first place). Apparently, the Goose had been hired by a film company that was making a surfing movie...the Goose was flying actors and crew around the Carribean. The accident occurred when the pilot was trying to land on a river and noticed power lines at the last minute...he made the sharp turn in an attempt to avoid the wires...and well...you know what happened next.
Apparently, the film crew returned the next day and shot footage of surfers emerging from the wreck with boards in hand...it was used in the movie...

This does not look like a landing to me... it looks like a takeoff. Sea planes tend to deccelerate very quickly once they touch down. This plane shows no sign of slowing down. Maybe he decided to take off again once he saw the power lines. I still wonder what was the deal with his tip floats?
