In the not-so-unlikely event that the weather is cold on the day of our winter fun-fly, it might take a long time for the BBQ to reach optimal grilling temperature. In order to speed things up for the comfort and convenience of hungry pilots, perhaps we could consider adopting George Goble's technique.

Here is a still photo illustrating the key idea.

Some of us prefer our burgers well-done :D

I love the part in the article (http://www.doeblitz.net/ghg/noblstar.gif)where he mentions that he got the idea when cooking with engineer pals, and not wanting to wait 40 minutes for the coals to go. And how they slowly found ways to get the coals going... culminating in dumping a bucket of liquid oxygen on the grill. (shown in the picture mike posted).

I bet we could do just as well with if we can get someone to sacrifice a li-po pack. All we need is some alligator clips, 20 ft of wire, and a car battery... "vent-with-flames"=lit BBQ!

Although, I must say that I *was* thinking a good way to stay warm might be to watch a Matt Chapman CAP 232 fly. Hmmm... if ONLY there was someone in the club who had one. (Besides Mike Torunski that is...)
