Just an FYI for anyone interested. The show "Daily Planet" is airing a story on the Red-Bull Air-Races on today's show. I believe the air time is 7:00pm and then repeated again at 11:00pm. For those that don't know Daily Planet is on the Discovery channel.

Cheers,
Dave

It was awesome! ...I was totally amazed at how tightly these full-size airplanes could turn and maneuver...they looked like models... :D

Did you hear the pilot (I think it was Kirby) saying that "if you told me we could be doing this with these planes 5 years ago I wouldn’t have believed it.” I think it’s the lighter construction materials combined with more engine... The same things that let our models fly “3D” is what’s letting them pull these tight turns.

It was pretty nice to see some shots of the Air Races in full resolution… not the usual grainy internet downloads :D

Hmmmm… I wonder if this could be adapted into an event for the next funfly.

Do you get the feeling that it's just the three of us in here?

Nevermind... forget I mentioned it.

I don't think we should wait for summer. Let's figure out how to make some pilons for the next session at the dome and have Shocky Air Races!!!:D :D

Gee, and I thought I saw some Shocky and people carnage without the pilons:D
This could get interesting:rolleyes:
Have to make the pilons out of tissue or toilet paper. I was surpised to
see the guys rudder take out the pilon in the show, but better that
way than the reverse. Which I think I also remember seeing at the dome but I
beleive it was another plane that stripped the great planes shocky of its rudder.
