Hi,
Does anyone know a place in the Ottawa area that sells pager motors. I am looking for something like Didel motors for micro models.
Thank you,
Gabriel

Princess auto off St. Laurent did have some a few months ago. A co-worker of mind gave me a few. If you want I can just give you a couple. They still have the little weights attached. I don't know what make they are.

Thank you Mike,
Actually I got a couple of motors from ADD Electronics, but the problem is that they are not suitable for micro planes. The resistance is in excess of 10 ohms. I've been told that the resistance should be 4 ohms or less.
Would you mind measuring the DC resistance of the motors you got from Princess?

I measured the three motors I have and my meter says 12 ohms more or less.

Thanks Mike,
As far as I know, in order to be suitable for micro planes, the motors need to be around 5 ohms or less. I heard of 10-15 ohms motors being used, but they need special gears and I would like to keep it simple, i.e. direct drive.
For now, for the little plane I am working on right now, I found a N20. It's a bit heavy but I'll do my best.

Try Toy's R US and look for the Super Slick Hop Up Kits. They contain 2 motors, one with an orange and one with red end bell. They are 7mm dia x ( i don't recall how long) and around 2 ohm resistance.
Nearly as much power as the mabuchi M20. Gear 4:1 on one lipoly cells for about 300 to 500 mah with a 4.5 x 3 or 5x3 prop.
cheers, Graham
