I'd like to join ORCC and take advantage of the training nights on Wednesdays. If I bring a cheque or cash for my membership to the field tomorrow night, would I be able to fly immediately? Is the price still $150 or is there a prorated rate for a partial season?

How are the training nights structured? Do I just show up? Will an instructor be assigned to me? I'll probably need someone to go over the plane with me first since I don't really know too much about it since I bought it used and I'm a bit new.

The weather looks great for Wednesday. A bit hot but wind at only 5KPH. Thanks for the help.

Hi..
Welcome to the club.. You will for sure have fun..
To answer your questions you better send an e-mail to:

cfi@ottawarcclub.ca (chief flying instructor)
membership@ottawarcclub.ca

they will be able to help you. I believe you can fly the same day you submit your registration.. With regards to the pro-rated rate question, unfortunately, that's not the way it works..

If you show up at the field, most likely the instructor will be there, but to be completely sure, send him an e-mail to arrange.

Yes, he will check your plane and give you all the instructions and guidance.. No one will allow you to take off before checking out your plane.

Best of luck..
Cheers

Yup... just show up at training night... there's generally 3-4 instructors around who help out to check out aircraft and fly.

Although... you might not want to mention that your plane was built by Dave Rees.:rolleyes::p:rolleyes:

Way to go tom....I was trying to keep that a secret. Now I feel shame.

I don't have my plane with me today but I will show up tonight to check things out. I've been trying to get as much SIM stick time is as I can but I've been really busy lately.

Will you be there tonight?

I'm resurecting this thread. I'm a new guy and I'll be joining up soon too. I'm all electric and will be flying a Parkzone Corsair.

I've got a bit of sim time under my belt but I'm still crashing occaisionally when trying inverted maneuvers.

I look forward to flying at the field, though!
