Anyone local built any yet? Scotty? You were hot on these for a while, did you ever get around to it?

I'm hoping to put something together that'll use my 2208/34 or 2212/20. Something with an AUW between 10-15 oz... I'd like it to have some zip but slow enough to fly in a park/indoors.

What are the best (cheap) sources of depron and CF strips for spars?

I'm trying to decide what airplane I want to build. I'd like it to be a little different... Was thinking maybe an RA-5 Vigilante, F-104 Thunderchief or something like that... (Though I guess newer fighters have bigger fuse area and probably do better at high AOAs)

Greg,

You might want to check out 3Dfoamy.com. They have an F-15 and an F-18 that you can download the plans for. I know they aren't quite as exotic as what you may be looking for but I have heard good things about them. Click on the Manuals/Plans tab then scroll down, you'll find it.

I downloaded their planes for the foamy Funtana and it flew very well until I flew it through the hydro wires. It's fixable as most foamy's are I just haven't done so yet.

Cheers,
Dave

I've seen some Depron available at Richard's.

This winter I'm thinking of making up one or two of these little foamies as well.

I have started an AVRO Arrow from plans I obtained through the EZone. The guy is in Canada and I cannot remember his name off hand. I was going to install a HIMAX outrunner but owing to my pending move construction has come to a halt. I bought several sheets of Depron from Richard's and so the whole schamozzle is available if anyone would like to carry the torch and finnish the build. To date I have cut out all the components and assembled the fuselage. The plan is also available.

Another thought, I have a foam Mirage that is ready to go - just intall your equipment and fly. This one came complete with motor (Speed 400), speed control and battery (NICAD). I was in the process of converting it to brushless and LIPO which I think should make it a bit of a rocket ship.

Any takers?

How big/how many ounces is the target weight of the Arrow? How much $$$ to 'take over' the project?

I would say that it is about 20" span. Weight - gee I dont know.

I guess the depron cost me about $10 at Richards. If you promise to build it you can have it but I want photos! You have to pick up.
